A really cool piece of tech I discovered in 2012 was MIDI. Basically, it's a way for electronic pianos to talk with computers. With that and my first Apple laptop, I was able to play instruments on the computer. I'm not a musician, so I'm sure you can imagine it wasn't amazing.
I know I'm not the next Mozart or Beethoven, but I really feel that, for someone with minimal musical education (I was a choir kid but never learned an instrument), these songs turned out well. My personal favorite to this day is "Galaxy II".
